Debra Rook

Debra Rook earned her undergraduate degreed in English Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, her Master's in Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults, and a post-graduate professional certification in Technical Writing from Duke University. For 20 years, she taught K-12 reading, writing, TESOL, and literature to students at all grade levels in Florida, Utah, and accross North Carolina. Prior to joining the faculty at ECSU, she taught Intermediate and Advanced TESOL courses at Salt Lake Community College. She also works as a technical writer for educational companies and is the past Vice-President of the Society for Technical Communication Carolina Chapter. Currently, Professor Rook researches modern and historical literature as it applies to young people, specifically in the areas of women's history and legal autonomy in America.
