Elizabeth City State University Director of the Office of Admissions and Recruitment Arlinda Halfacre has been invited to attend the College Board Leadership Academy (ELA). It is the College Board's yearlong professional development program that supports the next generation of enrollment leaders.

This year’s program begins in September through June 2024 and hosts a diverse group of institutions and backgrounds. Topics including leadership and management, data driven practices, retention, diversity and inclusion and strategic enrollment planning are part of the academy’s focus.

“I am greatly appreciative for this awesome opportunity to attend the College Board Enrollment Leadership Academy,” Halfacre ‘91 said. I am thankful for the leadership from ECSU Chancellor Dr. Karrie G. Dixon, our Provost Dr. Farrah Ward and the entire university’s leadership team. We have a great work to do in ensuring ECSU is actively recruiting and educating top talent throughout the state and beyond. I’m honored to be part of that effort.”

Halfacre began as the interim director of ECSU’s admission and recruitment office in July 2021, and assumed the permanent position in July 2022. She is also president of the ECSU National Alumni Association (NAA), Inc. Elizabeth City Area ECSU Alumni Chapter and serves as the NAA, Inc. chaplain.
