Elizabeth City, N.C. (Jan. 19, 2024) – Upon her selection for a national program focused on global initiatives and ideals, Kim Scott finds herself among a group of national educators she considers “change agents” in the realm of environmental evolution.
Scott, an assistant professor in Elizabeth City State University (ECSU)’s Department of Business, Accounting and Sports Management, joins a cohort with 19 other academicians from institutions around the globe as Faculty Innovation Fellows program candidates – a two year experience initiated by Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design.
“I am grateful for the opportunity,” she said. “I hope my planned project makes a lasting impact on our students and the greater entrepreneurship ecosystem.”
As program participants, these educators will work to design unique projects that enhance the innovation ecosystems at their schools and help students gain vital, real-world skills and mindsets. In addition to being selected, program candidates are invited to present their project findings and progress at a program summit at the University of Twente (UT) in the Netherlands.
“I look forward to championing creativity, sparking innovation, and continuing to cultivate a dynamic learning environment here at ECSU,” Scott said.
Scott has been with the university for since Fall 2021 and also serves as associate director of the Office of International Programs (OIP).
