ECSU to Move to Online Instruction at 3:30 p.m., Jan. 9
ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (Jan. 9, 2024) – Due to forecasted inclement weather, all classes will transition to remote learning beginning at 3:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 9. Please see details for students and employees below and continue to watch for RAVE Alert, WRVS-FM 89.9 online, and your email for updates as needed.
 
Students and Faculty
  • All classes will transition to online instruction at 3:30 p.m.
    • All in-person classes should be moved to online instruction or respective faculty members should identify an alternative, equivalent learning experience to replace missed class time
  • All campus dining locations will operate under normal hours
  • Campus transportation will stop at 6 p.m.
  • Student Health will stop accepting patients at 4 p.m.
Campus Activities and Events
  • The basketball games against Shaw University will go on as scheduled at 5:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., but will be closed to the public
University Operations
ECSU will operate under Condition 1 of the Adverse Weather Policy effective immediately, Tuesday, Jan. 9, until further notice. The university will remain open, but some non-mandatory operations may be reduced to limited staffing. Department/unit leaders and supervisors are responsible for ensuring the operation of their specific areas and may designate employees as mandatory during this time. Mandatory employees must report to or remain at work. Employees may also work remotely with proper approval. For any work time missed, employees must use leave time per leave keeping policies.
